The Brit successfully defended his heavyweight titles with a ninth-round knockout win over Pulev.

Afterwards, Rice was pictured with Joshua and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, who fights Logan Paul in an exhibition match in February.

The 21-year-old uploaded the picture to his Instagram page with the caption ‘Champ X TBE [The Best Ever]’.

Rice outshone England teammate Kalvin Phillips in West Ham’s 2-1 win at Leeds on Friday evening.

He has been captaining the Hammers in the absence of Mark Noble, who has had to settle for a place on the bench for most of the season.

talkSPORT host Tony Cascarino insists £80million-rated Rice ‘stinks of a Manchester United signing’.

He said: “Declan Rice was superb.

“He absolutely ran the show in midfield.

“He was up against Kalvin Phillips as well, who is a good player, and I thought he just took the game by the scruff of the neck.

“He just stunk of a Manchester United signing to me. I was sat there thinking, ‘Wow!’”
