Unai Emery gives middle finger to fans after Arsenal comment as Villarreal boss hits back at ‘good ebening’ jibes with savage response July 31, 2022 – Posted in: Soccer
Ex-Arsenal manager Unai Emery gave the middle finger to supporters upon his return to England on Saturday.
The Spaniard took his Villarreal side to Southampton for a pre-season friendly and faced a few jibes outside St Mary’s as he signed autographs.
One fan asked Emery to say ‘good ebening’ in reference to the manager’s famous opening line at press conferences, which was mercilessly mocked during his spell at the Emirates.
Another told Emery he did ‘very good’ at Arsenal – at which point the Yellow Submarine boss flipped off the supporters.
The former Gunners manager looked down the lens of the camera and smiled as the fans laughed, suggesting it was all in good faith.
Emery endured a dismal spell in charge of Arsenal, succeeding legendary manager Arsene Wenger but lasting little more than a year in charge.
However, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla boss has since guided Villarreal to the Champions League semi-finals and continues to thrive in Spain.
The Yellow Submarine downed Juventus and Bayern Munich before getting dumped out by Liverpool last season.
Emery’s men beat Southampton 2-1 in the pre-season friendly on Saturday.
