Conte says Spurs qualifying for the Champions League would be a ‘miracle’

Aston Villa v Tottenham: What has been said?

Tottenham fan Darren Ambrose reckons, with smart transfer business in the summer, a rejuvenated Spurs could potentially become title challengers next season.

He told Drive Time: “I’m going to throw something out here. I’ll probably get ridiculed and laughed at.

“Next season, if Conte stays, [Harry] Kane stays, with [Cristian] Romero and a couple of acquisitions, they will be challenging [for the title].

“Only becausse [Rodrigo] Bentancur has come in, [Dejan] Kulusevski has come in, no one really thought they would hit the ground running as they have, so it shows what kind of player he will attract to the football club.

“Change a couple of players, three or four, maybe five players – he’ll already have his eye on some of them. Brilliant manager. Born winner.

“I’m not saying they are going to win [the title] but challenging more than they are this season.”
