Liverpool’s No.9 could be unhappy with his position at in Jurgen Klopp’s thoughts, says Johnson

The Brazil international was behind Diogo Jota last season in the pecking order, but could now find game time further limited on Merseyside.

Sport Witness reports Juventus are are in ‘advanced negotiations’ for the star, as they seek a replacement for Paulo Dybala, who recently joined Roma.

Former Reds full-back Johnson believes Firmino could become unhappy due to a lack of game time in the upcoming campaign.

“Let’s face it, if you’re a top player you want to play every single week so I don’t know how he feels about potentially playing a bit less next season,” the ex-England international told GGRECON.

“Jurgen Klopp obviously loves him and he’s a legend of the club, but is he going to be happy playing the last twenty minutes in certain games? Probably not.”

Johnson does believe Firmino still has a big role under Jurgen Klopp, and the club won’t want to lose him.

“You don’t want to lose too many players who know the club inside out.

“I don’t know if Firmino will be one of the first names on the teamsheet next season but I definitely believe that he will play a big part.

Firmino started just ten league games for the Reds last season, and it is clear why Johnson believes he could leave.

The Brazilian, who has been at Anfield for seven seasons, which has seen him win the Premier League and Champions League, has one year left on his current contract.
