Pep Guardiola fumes at fourth official as Man City boss pleads for more stoppage time at end of West Brom draw December 15, 2020 – Posted in: Soccer
Pep Guardiola was pleading with the fourth official for more time to be added on at the end of Man City’s Premier League clash with West Brom on Tuesday night.
City were drawing 1-1 with the Baggies at the time and were putting an enormous amount of pressure as time was expiring.
The official indicated that just four minutes would be added on once the 90 minutes were up but Guardiola made it clear he didn’t think it was enough.
He was seen remonstrating with Anthony Taylor but it did not good – his side went on to be held by West Brom in a game they probably should have won.
Ilkay Gundogan had fired home City ahead from close range when he turned in a Raheem Sterling cross.
It was not all City, though, as West Brom levelled before the break thanks to some sloppy defending from a free-kick.
As the ball came back into the box, Semi Ajayi turned Nathan Ake before shooting, with his effort taking a big deflection off Ruben Dias to beat Ederson and bring City’s run of six consecutive clean sheets to an end.
