Mauricio Pochettino makes Tottenham outcast Dele Alli first PSG transfer target, and also wants to sign Lionel Messi once he takes charge of French giants December 26, 2020 – Posted in: Soccer
Dele Alli could finally secure an exit from Tottenham to reunite with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain were one of the leading contenders to sign Alli during the summer, but he ended up staying in north London where his playing situation has been rather worrying this season.
The England midfielder has started only five games this term and is struggling for form under Jose Mourinho – a real difference from when he was one of the Premier League’s finest players during Pochettino’s spell in charge of Spurs.
His outcast status has led to suggestions Alli could finally be offloaded by Tottenham when the transfer window reopens in just under a week, and PSG remain keen despite a change in management at the Parc des Princes.
Thomas Tuchel was surprisingly sacked on Christmas Eve and Pochettino is in advanced talks to succeed him in Paris – with the Argentine already formulating transfer plans.
And, according to The Sun, signing Alli is Poch’s priority with the midfielder identified as his first transfer target for the January window.
If PSG do sign the 24-year-old, from being a Tottenham outcast Alli could end up playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs and as part of the same team as Lionel Messi!
Messi wanted to leave Barcelona earlier this year but is now instead set to depart next summer, with PSG sure to be leading the race for him.
And reports in France claim Poch is preparing a bold move to tempt Messi to Paris so he can reunite with his former Barca teammate Neymar in the French capital.
That move is unlikely to happen until the end of the season, however, with all Pochettino’s attention right now focussed on bringing in his former star Alli to revive his career away from the Premier League.
