Mark Noble admits ‘you never know’ if Declan Rice will stay at West Ham as Chelsea and Manchester United transfer rumours intensify December 28, 2020 – Posted in: Soccer
Mark Noble hopes Declan Rice will continue to excel at West Ham, but admits he isn’t certain where his teammate’s future lies.
Rice first broke into the West Ham team in 2017 and has become one of the most sought after players in the Premier League.
Like everyone associated with West Ham, Noble is for Rice stay but gave Hammers fans an ominous warning about his future.
Noble told talkSPORT: “He’s still learning his trade, he’ll get much better with experience. I’m hoping it’s here [at West Ham] but in this game you never know.
“I’m sure he’ll be a top, top player and an even better player in years to come.”
Rice’s brilliant form at West Ham has seen him establish himself in the England side and Noble is tipping his teammate to lead the Three Lions one day.
He added: “With Dec I don’t have to say too much. He’s such a great kid, got a great family, he’s a top, top player.
“There are two or three things that I’ve been on him about in the last two seasons to change in what he does.
“I do believe that if he progresses then he’ll captain England one day. That’s the sort of player he is.
“He’s such a level-headed kid. You’ve got to remember he’s still only 21.”
Mark Noble spoke ahead of West Ham’s Premier League clash at Southampton on Wednesday, which you can listen to LIVE on the talkSPORT app, kick-off 6pm.
