Liverpool handed nightmare Premier League fixtures after Champions League group games as Jurgen Klopp’s side will face rivals Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham June 17, 2022 – Posted in: Soccer
Jurgen Klopp has never been the most complimentary about the Premier League fixture schedule… and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
The full fixture list for the 2022/23 season has been released and Liverpool fans have scoured through to analyse their potential route to winning back the title.
The Reds have once again been handed a newly promoted side on the opening day of the season, for the fourth time in a row, as they kick-off against Fulham.
While their opening day has been kind, they face a tricky run of fixtures immediately after their Champions League games.
The four Champions League teams from the Premier League will play group games on 6/7 September, 13/14 September, 4/5 October, 11/12 October, 25/26 October and 1/2 November.
Arsenal and Manchester United will then play on the following day on 8 September, 15 September, 6 October, 13 October, 27 October and 3 November in the Europa League.
The fixtures after those European ties are always crucially important, and are often a time when slip-ups occur.
Klopp will likely be none too happy after seeing his opponents in the games immediately following those vital Champions League clashes.
The German has been a vocal critic of the scheduling in the Premier League, so expect a full meltdown again when he reacts to what his side has been given.
Liverpool will play four of their top six rivals: Chelsea [September 17], Arsenal [October 8], Man City [October 15] and Tottenham [November 5].
Meanwhile; Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Spurs all face a top six rival twice. Manchester United have escaped that all together.
