Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool move to spark transfer dominoes with Man United, Chelsea and Barcelona benefitting from Sadio Mane and Robert Lewandowski moves June 13, 2022 – Posted in: Soccer

Darwin Nunez’s move to Liverpool could trigger a domino effect of transfers this summer.

And while the only thing Manchester United look like buying at the moment is a pizza from a takeaway joint of the same name, there are multiple clubs that could benefit from Nunez’s imminent move to Anfield.

Nunez’s move to Liverpool could spark a flurry of other transfers

The Uruguayan’s transfer to Merseyside will likely lead to multiple other deals happening this summer – and, with a slice of luck, Man United might bring someone in too.

The first transfer likely to go through after Nunez is confirmed as a Red is Sadio Mane’s move to Bayern Munich.

The Senegalese superstar, who has been at the heart of Liverpool’s success over the last few years, is closing in on a move to Germany after six years on Merseyside.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to be holding out for around £42.5million for the forward, which will help fund the Nunez deal.

Robert Lewandowski may then be allowed to leave Bayern, after declaring his desire for a new challenge away from the German champions.

Barcelona is reportedly his favoured destination, with manager Xavi looking to win the Spanish giant’s first La Liga title in three seasons.

Barca would understandably love to sign the Polish goalscorer, but their financial difficulties may make that difficult.

Sales may be necessary to secure a deal for the 33-year-old, with the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong the most likely to be shown the Nou Camp exit door.

Dembele has been linked with a move to Chelsea – which could happen if Romelu Lukaku returns to Inter Milan on loan – whilst De Jong has been heavily linked with an Erik ten Hag reunion at Man United.

The Red Devils are increasingly confident of signing the Dutch midfielder, talkSPORT understands – and rivals Liverpool’s move for Nunez could inadvertently help them secure their man.

So, maybe United fans will have something to get excited about this summer – even if it’s just a ‘Pepperoni Passion’ turning up at the door.
