Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski are the three finalists nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award 2020.
England’s Lucy Bronze is on the three-person shortlist for The Best FIFA Women’s Player Award 2020, alongside Pernille Harder and Wendie Renard.
Ballon d’Or winners and the top 10 players from 2000 to 2019: From Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to Michael Owen and Ronaldinho
The awards were set up by FIFA after they broke away from their unified prize with the Ballon d’Or in 2016.
Now, the two are separate and France Football magazine have decided there will be no Ballon d’Or for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
FIFA’s virtual ceremony to announce the winners will take place on December 17.
Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Bayern’s Manuel Neuer and Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak are the three nominees for The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper Award.
While Lyon’s Sarah Bouhaddi, PSG’s Christiane Endler and Chicago Red Stars’ Alyssa Naeher are the three nominees for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper Award.
For the The Best FIFA Men’s Coach Award, Leeds’ Marcelo Bielsa is nominated alongside Bayern’s Hans-Dieter Flick and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.
Chelsea’s Emma Hayes, Lyon’s Jean-Luc Vasseur and Netherlands’ Sarina Wiegman are nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach Award.
Finally, the three Puskas award nominees are Giorgian De Arrascaeta for Ceara SC against CR Flamengo, Heung-min Son for Tottenham against Burnley and Luis Suarez for Barcelona vs Mallorca.
