Chris Wood scores penalty in second half to give home side win after having goal disallowed by VAR in first half, Magpies ten points clear of relegation zone April 8, 2022 – Posted in: Soccer

Newcastle United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at St James’ Park on Friday night.

The Magpies ended their run of three defeats in a row with a tight 1-0 win over Wolves. Chris Wood won and then scored a penalty in the second half to seal a massive three points for the Toon.

Newcastle had a goal ruled out in the first half for offside and had Martin Dubravka to thank for pulling off a good stop in the second half. It was a poor result for Wolves, who struggled to get going on Tyneside.
