Carlo Ancelotti breaks another record and tips his son, Davide, to move into management after Real Madrid’s Super Cup success August 11, 2022 – Posted in: Soccer

Real Madrid’s celebrations are in full swing as the Spanish giants secured their fourth trophy of 2022 in the UEFA Super Cup.

After securing the Spanish Super Cup, LaLiga, the Champions League and now the UEFA Super Cup, Los Blancos were in fine spirit as they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0.

The victory marked manager Carlo Ancelotti’s 24th trophy in his 27 years as a manager, and the Italian was loving his life in Helsinki.

He’s also broken another record in becoming the first manager to win four Super Cup finals.

The iconic gaffer was seen jumping and grasping his coaching staff in a circle whilst beaming as they got their season off to a flyer.

And speaking after his side’s trophy win, Ancelotti suggested his legacy could be carried on… by his son.

Ancelotti’s son Davide is currently an assistant coach at the club, and the Italian icon hinted he could follow in his footsteps.

“He’s an assistant, for sure he’ll be a coach in the future,” he said.

“He’s working a lot on the set pieces, he has more energy than me. It’s normal!”

The Europa League champions, Frankfurt, held a guard of honour for the now five-time Super Cup winners – the same tally as their rivals Barcelona.

And smiles were plastered across the La Liga club’s stars’ faces as they celebrated their first piece of European silverware this season.

Benzema took his Real Madrid goal tally up to 324 on Wednesday, the second-highest goalscorer in the club’s history, moving above club legend Raul.

And even the Frenchman, who normally has a serious look on his face, beamed as he lifted his side’s new trophy.
