Arsenal loanee Joe Willock admitted scoring a late equaliser for Newcastle against Tottenham ‘made it sweeter’ after the Magpies fought back from a goal behind to claim a vital point at St James’s Park.
With just five minutes remaining, substitute Willock grabbed a crucial equaliser to leave the Magpies three point above Fulham, who face Aston Villa later on Sunday.
Hugo Lloris kept out Miguel Almiron’s initial header but Willock arrived at the right place at the right time to crash home the equaliser off the underside of the bar and claim a deserved point for his side.
Speaking after the match, Willock told Sky Sports: “I am an Arsenal player and it makes it sweeter but I am happy to do my job.”
“I feel like if we continue to play how we did today, we will have no problems staying in this league.”

Harry Kane’s double looked to have handed Spurs a sixth win on Tyneside in seven visits when he struck twice inside four first-half minutes after Joelinton’s opener with his 28th and 29th goals of the season.
However, Steve Bruce’s beleaguered side turned in a gritty display which was rewarded when, seconds after Kane had hit the post, Willock smashed home an 85th-minute equaliser to claim a 2-2 draw and a point which could prove crucial in the fight for top-flight survival.
